What is Point Shot Therapy?
Today, pinpoint therapy has replaced traditional treatment methods as a method that. The point-and-shoot method, which is used in the treatment of spine and joint problems, is targeted and has high success rates.
The main purpose of point-and-shoot treatment is to determine the cause of the pain and to make an application for it. Point shot therapy is also called nerve canal injection. It can be used for back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain and all pain caused by spine or joint problems.
In point-shooting treatment, after the damaged nerve is detected with MRI and similar imaging methods, the needle is point-shot to the damaged nerve canal. The drug dose used in the pinpoint method is quite low, but the success rate is extremely high.

How Is It Done?
Cortisone and local anesthetic drugs are commonly used during the procedure. Thanks to these drugs, edema developed around the nerve and hernia as well as inflammation and adhesions are eliminated.
The most important reason why pinpoint therapy is a safe treatment method is that a C-arm fluoroscopy device is used to monitor both the needle's entry into the nerve canal and the spread of the applied contrast material in the nerve canal, live on the screen.
After the necessary examinations are made by a specialist physician and the location and severity of the damage is determined by using imaging methods, the application can be performed smoothly and successfully.

Who Is It Applied?
The rate of people experiencing low back pain or similar pain due to spine and joint problems is around 75 to 80 percent in Turkey. Approximately 85 to 90 percent of the aforementioned pains can be treated with medication, exercise, physical therapy applications or manual therapy methods. Point-and-shoot therapy is used for persistent low back pain.

The point shooting method is an application that aims at full-target treatment, especially in the treatment of spine and joint problems. The most important criterion for this is to find and treat the exact cause of the pain. Finding the cause of the pain is the task of the specialist physician trained in this field.
Usually the effect of the injection is permanent. However, there is a risk of recurrence of the pain. In order to reduce the risk of recurrence, we recommend a quality physical therapy and rehabilitation after the injection.
